The Facts: The conventional wisdom following Saturday's trade of Sam Bradford to the Vikings was that Chase Daniel would be the Eagles' starting quarterback until they deemed Wentz ready to start. That may not be a very long period of time. Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that Wentz will start against the Browns in Week 1 as long as he's recovered from the injury to his ribs that he sustained in the first preseason game.

Diehards Line: Mike Garafolo of NFL Media has heard the same as Caplan and adds that Daniel is not happy about Saturday’s developments. That’s also not particularly surprising, but he was brought to town to be a backup quarterback even if he’s not backing up the guy he thought would be the starter. ... Meanwhile, Wentz’ health is a wild card in this scenario, but it isn’t particularly surprising that the Eagles would be looking to Wentz sooner rather than later in the wake of the Bradford trade. While it may not be total rebuilding mode in Philly, the trade does turn the focus more to the future than the immediate present.
