The Facts: The Broncos just finished their eighth practice of training camp and the longer camp goes, the muddier the QB situation becomes. One day, the starter is for sure Sanchez. The next day, Trevor Siemian is the best man. At least there was some resolution to the name-the-starter process Thursday. The preseason game that will be played next Thursday at Chicago? HC Gary Kubiak declared its importance as to who will start the regular-season opener. "I want to get them out there, I'm going to put a number of throws on each one of them,' Kubiak said. "And that's going to have a lot to do with decision-making time to be honest with you.'
Diehards Line:
According to 9News.com's Mike Klis, Siemian is the better pure passer. Sanchez brings more leadership energy. Just as one seems to make a move one day, the next day brings the other guy. “Guys have good days and rough days,” Kubiak said. “I think what’s going on is they’re all doing good stuff. And then there’s struggles at times and those type of things. But it’s very, very competitive.’’ For the record, Klis notes that Paxton Lynch, the first-round rookie who will eventually become the Broncos’ starting quarterback, continued to get coaching from Kubiak on the field away from the Sanchez-Siemian competition.
