The Facts: Bush's 2015 season with the 49ers came to an early end when he slipped on the concrete that skirted the playing field in St. Louis and tore his ACL. It was the latest in a long list of injuries for Bush, including a high ankle sprain that limited him with the Lions in 2014, but Bush said earlier this offseason that he wants to keep playing. He hasn't found a job yet, although he told Bruce Murray and Maurice Jones-Drew of Sirius XM NFL Radio that he's heard from a couple of teams and that he feels healthy.
Diehards Line:
“Body feels great,” Bush said. “I had the knee injury last year. It was very unfortunate, slipping on the concrete in St. Louis, but up until then I hadn’t had a knee injury since 2009. … To play in the league 10 years, I definitely feel as good as I could be. I don’t feel like I lost a step, I don’t feel slow and I feel like I could still go out there and be effective.” As PFT's Josh Alper suggests, if Bush does sign with a team, he’ll have to catch up quickly after missing the entire offseason. He said his experience with four different teams and multiple offensive schemes leaves him confident that he can do quickly, although that point remains moot as long as he’s unemployed.
