The Facts: The 49ers waived running back Gaskins in May when they needed roster space to add undrafted rookies to the organization. They made some other tweaks to the roster here and there as they saw what the new arrivals could do over the last few weeks and wound up with an empty roster spot at the conclusion of their offseason program. They filled it on Monday by bringing Gaskins back to the team.
Diehards Line:
Gaskins originally signed to the 49ers practice squad in 2014 and started last season there as well before being called up to the main roster in late October. He played nine games, carrying the ball 16 times for 38 yards and catching eight passes for 69 yards.
