The Facts: Vick will be 36 years old later this month. A "healthy 36" as he likes to say. And Vick's not ready to call it a career just yet. ... Unless he has no choice. "I haven't officially retired," Vick said on Monday. "As of right now, it's pretty much at a stalemate type of thing. Just taking the days as it comes, but most importantly for me, I just have to continue to work out and train. I would love to play this year, suit up for another run at it. I still feel like I could play and there is a lot left in the tank."
Vick played last season for the Steelers, starting three games when
Diehards Line: Ben Roethlisberger was sidelined by injury. Vick had two touchdown passes and an interception in a rather uninspiring stint as the starter. It looked as if there was little left in the arm and legs of the quarterback who was once the envy of the football world with his freakish skills. His time in Pittsburgh came on the heels of a similar year with the Jets. Still, Vick is three years younger than Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. He's a year younger than Saints quarterback Drew Brees. He's only six months older than Giants quarterback Eli Manning. Vick has played 13 NFL seasons, but he also had a three-year stint out of football following a dog fighting scandal that landed him in prison. He resuscitated his career in Philadelphia with the Eagles. His fate now rests in the hands of the 32 NFL teams. They'll be the deciding factor for whether Vick gets a chance to go out the way he'd like.
