The Facts: Brown re-signed with the Giants on Monday afternoon, a little more than a week before the kicker will turn 37. He'll return for his fourth season with the Giants and his 14th in the NFL. Brown got a two-year, $4 million deal, a source told the Daily News.
Diehards Line:
The Giants got more than their money's worth out of Brown's last two-year contract, especially in 2015 which was statistically Brown's best. He made 30 of 32 field goals for a career-high percentage of 93.8 — best in Giants history among kickers with more than 11 attempts in a single season. His 92.3 percentage in 2014 ranks second on that list. Brown did, however, miss one extra point last year — his first since 2010 and only the third of his 13-year career. And one of his two missed field goals last season was a big one. It came in overtime of the Giants' Week 13 game against the Jets. That miss snapped his franchise-record streak of 29 straight field goals made. It was also a rare miss for Brown, who has been one of the most reliable kickers in Giants history since he first signed in 2013. In three seasons, he's connected on 77 of his 84 field goal attempts. His 91.7 percent success rate trails only John Carney (92.1 percent in his one season, 2008) on the franchise list.
