The Facts: The NFL announced Tuesday that Redd has been suspended indefinitely without pay for another violation of the substance abuse policy.
Diehards Line:
In case you missed it, the NFL announced that Redd had been suspended four games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Redd was on injured reserve at the time so the suspension cost him four paychecks without keeping him off the field. He was expected to compete for a roster spot this year after recovering from a torn ACL, but that obviously won't be the case. Redd joined the Redskins as an undrafted free agent in 2014 and carried the ball 16 times for 75 yards and made eight catches for 107 yards while playing in 15 games. The Redskins could use a third back behind Matt Jones and Chris Thompson, but it's safe to assume Redd won't be in the mix any time soon.
