The Facts: Rainey announced on Instagram that he's signing with the Giants.
Diehards Line:Rainey appeared in all 16 games for the Buccaneers last year, but started none, receiving a grand total of eight offensive touches. He was very active on special teams, though, returning 29 punts (10.0 yard average) and 19 kickoffs (24.7 yard average). Rainey played a team-leading 268 special teams snaps. Rainey will have a chance to compete in camp, but his signing is likely pointed toward depth and special teams considerations. Rashad Jennings emerged as the team's No. 1 back with a strong finish to the 2015 season once he broke up the team's running back committee, and Shane Vereen remains the Giants' third down and two-minute back. Orleans Darkwa and Andre Williams will also return.
