The Facts: The Bears announced Thursday that they have re-signed Deonte Thompson. It's a one-year deal.
Diehards Line:Thompson joined the Bears practice squad last September after failing to make the Bills and moved to the active roster in November. He had two catches for 81 yards and returned 14 kickoffs for 409 yards. Marc Mariani was the other main kickoff returner for the Bears last year and also handled punt returns. With Jeffery, Kevin White, Eddie Royal and Marquess Wilson on hand, Mariani and Thompson could fill out the depth chart thanks to their special teams work. Thompson also played one game for Buffalo in 2014 and spent 2012 and 2013 in Baltimore, where he caught 15 passes for 147 yards.
