The Facts: Speaking at the league meetings on Wednesday, HC Koetter said that Evans needs to be more consistent in his preparation and work habits in order to get the most out of his talent. Koetter has high hopes for that effort and believes Evans will rebound, "if we can call 1,200 yards a bad year."
Diehards Line:
Indeed, Evans caught more passes for more yards during his second season with the Buccaneers than he did while catching 68 balls for 1,051 yards as a rookie. But dropped passes were an issue for Evans through his second season, including a six-drop day in a loss to the Giants, and working to cut them out of his game will be part of the team’s plans heading into next season. As PFT suggests, calling it a bad year would be a stretch, but it could have been a better one and the Bucs would like to see what happens if Evans can put it all together.
