The Facts: Adam Schefter of ESPN reports the Redskins will have Davis in for a visit on Thursday.
Diehards Line:
Davis said recently that he’d like to play four or five more years in the NFL, something that will require the free agent to land a job for the 2016 season to have any chance of happening. Meanwhile, Redskins GM Scot McCloughan was the vice president of player personnel for the 49ers when they drafted Davis in the first round of the 2006 draft. With Jordan Reed in the lineup, tight end isn’t a pressing need in Washington. If McCloughan thinks Davis has enough left in the tank to help, though, it could be the spot where Davis tries to halt his two-year slide in a complementary role.
