The Facts: The Chargers announced they had brought back Clemens on a one-year deal to back up Philip Rivers.
Diehards Line:
Clemens has been with the Chargers the last two seasons, throwing nine passes. Originally a second-round pick by the Jets, he’s made a pretty nice living for a guy with 21 career starts and none since 2013. With guys such as Matt Schaub (Atlanta) and Matt Cassel (Tennessee) finding work today, and Matt Moore visiting Dallas today, the guys who hold the clipboards are flying off the shelves. So the Chargers' desire to retain Clemens is understandable.
