The Facts: On Monday, HC Chuck Pagano described Hasselbeck as "beat up from the feet up" after last Sunday's loss to the Texans. That assessment won't be enough to keep the team from trotting him out there as their starter against the Dolphins in Miami this weekend. Pagano said Tuesday that he expects Hasselbeck, who has had to come out of the last three games because of injuries, to make his eighth start of the season.
Diehards Line:
Winning out won’t guarantee the Colts a playoff spot after the loss to Houston, but it’s the only shot available to them so it’s not much of a surprise that they’d go with Hasselbeck over Charlie Whitehurst even though they know there’s a decent chance Whitehurst will have to come into the game. Should they win and remain alive into Week 17, the team will face another round of questions about whether Andrew Luck is ready to return to action. Pagano wouldn’t look that far ahead on Tuesday, although Luck said he hopes to get cleared medically and play against the Titans whether the Colts are still in the playoff hunt or not.
