The Facts: According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the 49ers are trading Davis and a 7th-round pick in 2016 to Denver for 6th-round picks in 2016 and 2017.
Diehards Line:
Rumors that Davis might be available were true. The 31-year-old tight end is a free agent after the season. He still possesses the skills to get open, but hasn't caught a touchdown pass since Week 1 of 2014 and has just 18 receptions for 194 yards in six games this season. In Sunday's blowout loss to the St. Louis Rams, Davis had six catches for just 24 yards. With the 49ers in clear rebuilding mode, moving Davis, who seems unlikely to return next season, makes sense. The Broncos could certainly use another weapon for Peyton Manning. And that's what will happen.
