The Facts: The Colts just announced they had released Johnson, who was signed last week as an emergency backup to Matt Hasselbeck.
Diehards Line:
The fact they’re entering a short week created some concern about Andrew Luck’s condition, since he barely threw last week with a shoulder issue, and was inactive against the Jaguars. But since the Colts were only carrying two quarterbacks prior to Luck’s shoulder flaring up, they needed a spare. The fact they don’t need Johnson any longer (they still have Alex Tanney on the practice squad), is probably a sign for Luck’s availability Thursday against the Texans.
