The Facts: When the Bills released Fred Jackson, it was seen as a sign that they were happy with Karlos Williams, Boobie Dixon and Brown as the backups to LeSean McCoy. That read turned out to be only partially correct because the Bills announced Tuesday that they have released Brown.
Diehards Line:
The Bills traded a 2015 fourth-round pick to the Eagles to acquire Brown before last season. It won’t go down as one of GM Doug Whaley’s best moves. Brown played seven games for the Bills last year and was inactive for the season opener this year while Williams and Dixon both ran for touchdowns in Buffalo’s 27-14 win against the Colts. Brown’s tenure in Buffalo ends with 126 yards on 36 carries. Brown’s roster spot was taken by defensive tackle Marcell Dareus, who returns from a one-game suspension this week.
