The Facts: Latimer’s rookie season was a significant disappointment. Selected in the second round of the 2014 NFL draft, Latimer managed just two catches for 23 yards. But this year, things will be different. That’s the word from new HC Gary Kubiak, who says he saw improvement from Latimer over the course of the offseason program. “I’m really excited about what he can bring and I know he’s a lot better now than when he started,” Kubiak said. “I’m excited moving forward.”
Diehards Line:As PFT notes, Kubiak has been talking up Latimer all offseason, and has also said that the Ravens were high on Latimer heading into the draft last year, when Kubiak was Baltimore’s OC. With Demaryius Thomas out of offseason work before signing his new contract last week, that gave Latimer a lot more time to work with Peyton Manning and the first-string offense. Now the Broncos need to see that work translate to the production that Latimer lacked as a rookie.
