The Facts: Bowe threw a minor scare into the Browns Tuesday when he went up for a pass, got tangled up with a defender and came up limping about midway through the two-hour OTA practice. Bowe was taken into the facility to have his knee examined, and never returned to the field. But HC Mike Pettine said it's nothing major. "We might hold him out Thursday,' Pettine said. "I'll wait to see the results of it. It wasn't anything serious, but especially in the spring with anything, we're going to tend to err on the side of being conservative."
Diehards Line:
Pettine said if Bowe isn't back by the end of this week, he'll likely return next week for the final three sessions of OTAs. After that, the Browns have their mandatory minicamp June 16-18. An eight-year veteran of the Chiefs, Bowe was one of the Browns' primary free agent acquisitions this year, along with former Buckeye Brian Hartline, who sat out Tuesday's practice and rode the bike instead. The Browns signed Bowe to a two-year deal worth $12,500,000, including a $3,500,000 signing bonus, and $9,000,000 guaranteed. The team is counting on Bowe to serve as their lead receiver. Fantasy owners shouldn't.
