The Facts: The Dolphins intend to add a veteran receiver this offseason, but the team's decision makers might prefer to do it after the draft. Michael Crabtree visited the team's facility last week, and it's highly likely that Jennings will travel to the NFL Owner's Meeting in Arizona to meet with team officials and coach Joe Philbin, who Jennings played for when the two were together in Green Bay.
Diehards Line:
According to Sun-Sentinel staffer Omar Kelly, the Dolphins like the team's trio of young receivers, which features Jarvis Landry, who led the team in receptions last season as a rookie, Rishard Matthews, a physical receiver who is entering his third season, and Kenny Stills, who Miami acquired from New Orleans in a trade earlier this month. However, the team is considering selecting a receiver in the first or second round, and is in a great spot to get one of the draft's elite wide outs at pick No. 14. So with a young group at the position, the Dolphins are looking for the right fit -- and that means on and off the field. Part of the reason Miami traded away Wallace, and released Brian Hartline and Brandon Gibson were chemistry issues with Ryan Tannehill.
