The Facts: Following up on the ongoing story. ... The Vikings' pursuit of Hill appears to be picking up some speed. According to a league source, the Vikings have made an offer to the 35-year-old Hill, and will be in touch with the quarterback's agent on Monday afternoon.
Diehards Line:Hill, who spent the 2006 season in San Francisco with current Vikings OC Norv Turner, has "genuine interest" in returning to Minnesota, where he spent his first NFL season, and he could give the Vikings a veteran backup for second-year QB Teddy Bridgewater. As previously noted, Hill has received interest from a number of teams since the free-agent negotiating window opened on Saturday, but there appears to be a good chance for a match between him and the Vikings. His familiarity with Turner's system, and his recent work as a starting quarterback, would seemingly make him a solid fit for the Vikings.
