The Facts: According to Sacramento Bee staffer Matt Barrows, the 49ers and Carrier have agreed to a two-year contract extension worth as much as $3.3 million.
Diehards Line:
Carrier, 24, played in 11 games in 2014, catching nine passes for 105 yards. According to Profootballtalk.com, he figures to vie for playing time in multi-TE sets in 2015. The 49ers will have a new offensive coordinator this season, with Geep Chryst replacing Greg Roman, who took the same job in Buffalo. We'll be looking to get a better feel for how the tight ends will be used going forward when OTAs and mini-camps begin.
