The Facts: The Raiders have former Cal kicker Tavecchio as a free agent, the team announced Tuesday.

Diehards Line: Tavecchio, the Golden Bears' No. 5 all-time leading scorer with 256 points, was with the Raiders last preseason after being claimed off waivers from Detroit. In one exhibition game with the Raiders, Tavecchio was 2 for 2 on field-goal attempts against Seattle, both from 47 yards. Tavecchio has gone to training camp with the 49ers (2012), Green Bay (2013) and Detroit (2014). He'll either serve as competition for Sebastian Janikowski or a camp leg to help keep the veteran fresh.
