The Facts:
The Giants waived Wilson on Wednesday, a move that will clear about $1.3 million in cap space for the Giants to use on players that will be able to help the team in 2015.
Diehards Line:
Wilson didn’t play for the Giants in 2014 after aggravating a serious neck injury he suffered in 2013 and announced he wouldn’t resume his playing career, but the former first-round pick still took up space on the Giants salary cap because he was still on their roster. That won’t be the case any longer. The move leaves Wilson free to join another team once he clears waivers, although there’s no sign that his condition will make that a possibility.
