The Facts: "Lots of folks" are "optimistic" that Blackmon, the suspended wide receiver, will return to the team in 2015, according to Alex Marvez of FOXSports.
Diehards Line:
The Jaguars hope to have an update on Blackmon's progress before May's draft, at which point they can begin planning for the 2015 season. Blackmon remains on indefinite suspension from the NFL at this time and has no concrete date for reinstatement by the league. But if he's going to return, the Jaguars need Blackmon to apply for reinstatement sometime within the next five weeks. According to the NFL's substance abuse policy, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has to make a decision within 60 days of a completed application for reinstatement. As the Redzone.org notes, the 25-year old Blackmon's return would be a huge boost for beleaguered quarterback Blake Bortles and his addition to a WR corps already brimming with young talents like Marqise Lee, Allen Robinson, and Allen Hurns could turn that unit into one of the most dangerous in the AFC.
