The Facts: Brown worked out with the Raiders and signed a one-year contract Monday afternoon, a source said.
Diehards Line:Brown was waived-injured in late August due to a calf injury that forced him to miss all but one practice in training camp. The Chargers drafted Brown in the 2011 third round. Fittingly, his best career games have come versus Oakland. He caught seven passes for 117 yards, both personal highs, last year at O.co Coliseum. As a rookie, he had five catches for 97 yards and a touchdown versus the Raiders. The Chargers will see him when they travel north on Oct. 16. He's shown to be a versatile and effective route runner, and he has a knack for the deep ball, able to high-point it with a good catch radius, particularly for a 5-foot-11 receiver. But he also has struggled with lower body injuries.
