The Facts: An injury-filled Jaguars practice today ended with Doss being carted off with an air cast on his right ankle. The Jaguars said Doss sustained a sprain (not a fracture) and would be re-evaluated on Friday. "You always think the worst; I started praying it wasn't a break," Doss told the T-U's Vito Stellino. "I was fortunate."
Diehards Line:
Doss was hurt near the sideline when he went down to catch a pass and was rolled into by linebacker Geno Hayes. Doss said he will have an MRI Friday to determine the sprain's severity. Doss is in line to be the Jaguars’ punt returner (because of Ace Sanders’ suspension) and worked with the first-team offense today at various times. Worth noting, rookie WR Allen Robinson was held out today with an injured hamstring. Of Robinson, HC Gus Bradley said: “We were pretty cautious – he felt a little bit of tightness so we held him out. We want to err on that side at this time of year.” Robinson missed most of the off-season with a hamstring injury. The Jaguars are again injury-riddled at receiver – Cecil Shorts (hamstring) remains out, Sanders is unavailable and now Robinson and Doss. ... Stay tuned.
