The Facts: The Bears announced they've signed Morgan to a one-year contract.
Diehards Line:
Morgan is a solid blocker on the outside but hasn't been a productive receiver since 2009-2010 with the Niners. Morgan recorded 48 catches for 510 yards and two touchdowns for the Redskins last season. Despite playing in all 16 games, and Washington’s playoff game versus Seattle, Morgan was less than 100 percent this season as he continued to recover from a broken ankle and ligament damage suffered in 2012. He was unable to make sharp cuts while running routes and lost some of his explosiveness and leaping ability. But Morgan appeared to be rounding into form late in the year, recording 25 catches for 247 yards and two touchdowns and 15 first downs in the final two months of the season. He underwent surgery early this year to clean up lingering damage. ... Now he joins a Chicago receiving corps led by Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery. Fantasy football owners shouldn't expect Morgan to have a significant impact for the Bears.
