The Broncos held the right to match any offer to Ball, who was a restricted free agent. The 27-year-old Ball has spent the previous three seasons on the Broncos’ active roster as one of Denver’s backup tailbacks. He has rushed for 801 regular-season yards since entering the NFL in 2008.
