The Facts: According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Steelers president Art Rooney was noncommittal Tuesday when asked about the future of veteran wide receiver Hines Ward.
Diehards Line:Rooney talked about Ward as an "all-time" Steeler great and "hopefully" a Hall-of-Famer, but he also admitted that "tough decisions will have to be made" about the 2012 season. The Steelers are currently $25 million over the salary cap and keeping Ward, who seemed to lose his ability to seperate from defensive backs in 2011, could be a luxury that the team can't afford.
