The Facts: It’s been almost two weeks since we first heard the idea of Beck as the next Redskins starting QB, and the idea hasn’t lost any steam in Washington. Mike Jones of the Washington Post writes Thursday that Beck appears to be the team’s future starter.
Diehards Line:Rex Grossman is a free agent, but Jones writes that Grossman would likely return as Beck’s backup if he re-signed. ... As PFT's Gregg Rosenthal suggests, if Washington sees Beck as superior to Grossman, it's hard to believe Grossman will be back. Given that, it seems likely they'll be in the market a more skill backup. Indeed, Jones starts his post by writing that the Redskins “have money to spend and are champing at the bit, according to people inside the organization.”As Rosenthal summed up, "They should be able to find a better way to spend that money than bringing Grossman back."
