The Facts: Tynes showed up at the practice facility Friday and received treatment on the first day that players are allowed to do so since the lockout was lifted -- and before it was reinstated. Tynes said he underwent hernia surgery immediately at the end of the season and also had minor procedures done to clean up his left ankle and right heel.
Diehards Line:“A bunch of clean-up stuff,” Tynes said. “No surgery is minor but they were all pretty relatively small-type deal. I am not hurting half as much as all these other guys but I felt like I had to get it taken care of to be pain-free. ...” Tynes said he didn’t plan on starting to kick until a month from now. He was also hoping the lockout wouldn't be reinstated. “The one thing you really miss out on is the expertise in the training room,” Tynes added. “I am far enough along that I feel good, I am still rehabbing. You just miss coming here, the accessibility of the field, to kick, and I had a great lunch. I definitely missed it. ...” And now he'll miss it at least a little more.
