The Facts: The Jaguars announced an undisclosed contract for McCown Monday.
Diehards Line:Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union, who first reported that McCown was close to a one-year deal, reminds readers the Jaguars traded for McCown before the 2009 season. He spent that year learning, then had a strong preseason. The Jaguars considered McCown one of the best backup quarterbacks in the NFL. McCown tore his ACL in San Diego in the fourth quarter of the Jaguars second game of the season. McCown completed 11 of 19 passes for 120 yards in the fourth quarter of that game. The Jaguars put him in for David Garrard after Garrard threw four interceptions. It was McCown's second torn ACL in his right knee. He tore the first one before the 2006 season.
