The Facts: Steven Jackson said this week the Rams didn't need a veteran RB, but it looks like they are going to get one anyway. ESPN.com's Mike Sando relayed the news cautiously on Twitter: "Just landed in STL and finished radio with John Clayton, who says the Rams will likely add Westbrook on Monday. Good insurance."

Diehards Line:ESPN's Chris Mortensen had previously reported that Westbrook was expected to sign with a team by Monday. As PFT notes, Chris Ogbonnaya was the favorite to be the backup. Should Westbrook sign, he could cut into Jackson's playing time a little more than Ogbonnaya might have been expected to. Stay tuned.
