The Facts: Mike Lombardi of the National Football Post is reporting Oakland and Minnesota are talking about a deal for Rosenfels, the Vikings No. 3 QB.
Diehards Line:Lombardi, who used to work for the Raiders, went on to advise readers it's no surprise that Oakland is looking at options other than Donovan McNabb, rumored to be of interest but reluctant to play in Oakland. And as ESPN's Bill Williamson noted, Rosenfels would be an interesting pickup for Oakland. He has some experience and some skills. He wouldn’t make the impact that McNabb would, but he would be cheaper. If Rosenfels came to Oakland, Williamson expects he would ultimately compete with Bruce Gradkowski for the starting job. That of course suggests the team is preparing to move away from JaMarcus Russell.
