The Facts: Osgood, the former Chargers special teamer, told Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune that he's agreed to a deal with the Jaguars. "I'm pleased to announce J'ville is in the house!" Osgood tweeted. "The Black and Teal Man of Steel is for real!"
Diehards Line:As PFT noted, Osgood, who has made three Pro Bowls as a special teamer, rarely could get on the field on offense with the Chargers but has a chance on Jacksonville's wide open depth chart. Indeed, PFT's Mike Florio reports that Osgood's contract pays him well as a special-teamer; even better if he becomes a successful receiver. Per Florio, the base value of the deal is $6.675 million, with $2.975 million guaranteed. But each year, Osgood is eligible for up to $1.3 million in incentives based on receptions. ... That's 3.9 million reasons to get it done on offense. It can't hurt.
