The Facts: Sorgi’s throwing shoulder is fine, but if he’s going to use it, it won’t be with the Indianapolis Colts. “The Colts informed us today that they will be releasing Jim Sorgi at 4 p.m.,” Sorgi’s agent, Matt Brei wrote in an email to the Star. "They gave us no reason at this point.”
Diehards Line:According to Star staffer Phil Richards, the reason might be the $275,000 roster bonus the Colts would have owed Sorgi today. Sorgi was due to earn $1.08 million in 2010. He went on injured reserve Dec. 9 with a shoulder condition. Aside from Peyton Manning, the other QBs on the Colts roster are Curtis Painter and Drew Willy. Painter completed 8-of-28 passes for 83 yards with two interceptions in two appearances as a rookie.
