
The Facts: A day after working out for the Giants, and only three days after being cut by the Patriots, Smith has agreed to terms with the Eagles, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Per Schefter, the deal is expected to be signed today.
Diehards Line:Smith was a third-round pick of the Buccaneers in 2005, and he signed a free-agent deal with the Patriots in the offseason. But as PFT's Mike Florio notes he lost a battle with Benjamin Watson that neither man likely realized was an all-or-nothing competition. As PFT reported Monday night, the Giants also worked out former Cardinal Leonard Pope on Monday.
