The Facts: Scaife is planning to sign his franchise tender on Monday after reporting to the team’s offseason program, his agent said. Agent Kevin Robinson said Scaife intended to sign his tender even before the Titans drafted South Carolina tight end Jared Cook in the third round of Sunday’s NFL Draft.
Diehards Line:A number of teams expressed in interest in trading for Scaife during this weekend’s NFL Draft, but nothing ever materialized. Since the draft has passed, trade talks appear to be dead. Scaife will make $4.46 million in 2009 as part of his franchise tag. Robinson said he hopes to continue talking to the Titans about a long-term deal for Scaife, who led the team in receptions last season with 58. “Bo is a team guy and he wants to be in Tennessee," Robinson said. “We’ll continue to work on a long-term deal, at least that’s what the Titans have told us they are willing to do."
