The Facts: Stover says he’s no longer in the Baltimore Ravens’ plans. Stover said Thursday night that when he approached team officials Monday to tell them about a free-agent offer from the New York Jets, he said the Ravens responded by telling the 41-year-old kicker that they are “going in a different direction.”
Diehards Line:As previously noted, the Jets re-signed Jay Feely, a close friend of Stover’s. That leaves Stover without a kicking job for next season. In 18 NFL seasons, Stover has made 462 of 552 field goals and hit 558 of 561 career extra points.
