The Facts: Jackson and high-priced defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson is among six players cut by the Denver Broncos. Also released Monday by new GM Brian Xanders were linebackers Niko Koutouvides and Jamie Winborn, safety Marquand Manuel and defensive end John Engelberger.
Diehards Line:Jackson, who was slated to count less than $1 million against the salary cap this season, is coming off a major hamstring injury -- one that ended his 2008 season in November. While he's a talented and useful receiving threat, Jackson's shortcomings as a blocker and history of injuries were likely factors in his release.
