The Facts: It appeared — and was reported — that former NFL HC Dan Reeves would join the Cowboys in some manner. That momentum was halted Wednesday, when the team announced the two sides were unable to reach an agreement on a contract. “We had two very good days of dialogue with Dan Reeves, and both the Cowboys and Dan had an interest in working together,” the Cowboys said in a statement. “By Wednesday afternoon, we were unable to reach an agreement on all of the details of a contract."
Diehards Line:The statement added that both parties were comfortable with the fact that Reeves would not be joining the organization. ... Reeves, 65, had appeared at Valley Ranch this week, and it was believed the two sides were discussing a role on the Cowboys’ staff as a possible consultant, according to the team’s official Web site. Some observers believed Reeves would assist with the team's offense and offer input on personnel matters.
