The Facts: P.J. Pope became the sixth tailback to start in the Broncos’ battered backfield—and he went to the sideline in the first quarter with a tight left hamstring. Selvin Young came in and carried the load until leaving with a pinched nerve in his neck late in the third quarter, leaving Tatum Bell as the only healthy ball carrier.
Diehards Line:While it remains to be seen just how serious the injuries to Pope and Young are, the Broncos head into their Week 17 tilt with the Chargers needing a win to secure a playoff berth. That being the case, the team seems likely to continue riding the fortunes of QB Jay Cutler and the passing attack. Still, if Bell is indeed the only healthy ball carrier on the roster, pulling emergency Fantasy duty isn't asking too much of him.
