The Facts: Two of the Rams' most significant acquisitions in recent years won't suit up again this season. Wide receiver Drew Bennett and wideout-returner Dante Hall are to be placed on injured reserve, possibly as early as today.
Diehards Line:Bennett has been out since Sept. 7, when he suffered a broken bone in his left foot in the season opener at Philadelphia. Coach Jim Haslett explained that uncertainty over the date of Bennett's return led to the determination to end his season. "Bennett's just not healing," Haslett said. The emergence of rookie Donnie Avery had to make the decision easier. ... A two-time Pro Bowler who ranks as one of the most productive return men in NFL history, Hall suffered a high-ankle sprain Sunday in the 34-13 loss to Arizona. Derek Stanley took over the return duties after Hall went down, and he'll continue in the role, Haslett indicated.
