The Facts: Hackett will miss this week's game, and perhaps several more, after suffering a sprained medial collateral ligament in last week's win over Kansas City. His agent, Kevin Robinson, said Tuesday that Hackett wasn't sure about the length of his absence, but that this week was out.
Diehards Line:Hackett, who was hurt last Sunday, has 10 catches for 131 yards in his first four games. Brought to the Panthers on a two-year, $3.5 million deal, he's looked good when he's been out there, but he's been limited. He's playing roughly 10 percent of the team's snaps most weeks as they use more two-tight-end packages than three-wide. ... He'll likely be replaced this week by Dwayne Jarrett, who's been inactive since Steve Smith's return.
