Watkins Insists He'll Play Tomorrow; Bills Likely To Focus On The Run
Following up on a previous item. ... As the Bills' week of preparation for the Dolphins winds down, this much is certain from a fantasy standpoint: Quarterback Tyrod Taylor and running back Karlos Williams will be on the field; Taylor as the starting QB and Williams standing by to chip in behind LeSean McCoy.

The more uncertain situation is the status of Sammy Watkins, who has been limited in practice. When asked about Watkins on Thursday, head coach Rex Ryan said he "hopes" the receiver can play, but according to ESPN.com's Mike Rodak, the coach smirked as he said it -- one of Ryan's telltale signs that he knows more than he's letting on.

Perhaps it was the fact he knew Watkins had a "hiccup" late in Thursday's practice.

Watkins is questionable for Sunday's game, but he expects to play.

"I'll definitely be out there," Watkins said in the locker room Friday.

Watkins, whose left ankle was heavily taped, worked with a trainer at the start of Friday's practice before leaving for the locker room.

As for the "hiccup?"

"Just fatigue, tired," Watkins said Friday. "I just kind of told the coaches, 'Hey, my ankle is kind of bothering me. I had a little tweak.' And they said, 'No, don't go out today.'"

Ryan considers Watkins a game-time decision Sunday.

"Obviously it will go down on Sunday. We'll see how he's feeling. It's not like we're really gonna work him out. We'll see how he's feeling, but I think he's going to be fine though."

Given that, it would hardly be a shock if Watkins suits up Sunday. The question is how eager should his owners be to play him?

Taylor and McCoy will be at their healthiest for this year. With Williams also back, the Bills will likely look to establish their ground game.

Still, Profootballfocus.com's Mike Clay believes if Watkins returns, you can bet on a massive target number, especially with Percy Harvin out. Watkins would be a WR2 against Miami. If Watkins doesn't go, Clay believes Charles Clay will be in for a big day.

I'll be following up on his status right up through tomorrow's kickoff.
