Bowe's Spot At The Bottom Of The Depth Chart Is Apparently Secure
As 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland's Daryl Ruiter framed it, "It sounds like receiver Dwayne Bowe will continue to be able to relax and count his money on Sunday afternoons."

Head coach Mike Pettine didn’t sound like Bowe will see the field anytime soon when asked about the veteran receiver Wednesday.

“We make that decision each week,” Pettine said. “We build a plan and see where we are from a depth standpoint. We talk about the minimum position requirements. The top 4 guys are entrenched.”

Bowe doesn’t play special teams which makes having him active impractical.

Marlon Moore is doing an outstanding job on special teams when he’s available,” Pettine said.

Bowe, who has been active for 2 games, played 12 snaps and been targeted twice this season, signed a 2-year $12 million contract with $9 million guaranteed in the offseason.

He missed the majority of training camp with a hamstring injury that continued to nag him during the early portion of the regular season but he’s been a healthy scratch the last 2 weeks.

Travis Benjamin leads the team with 31 catches and 528 receiving yards through 6 games.

With Benjamin, Taylor Gabriel, Andrew Hawkins and Brian Hartline “entrenched,” Bowe clearly isn’t in the plans going forward.
