Smith Joins 49ers; Is He A Good Fit With Kaepernick?
As we've expected, the 49ers and Torrey Smith have reached an agreement on a five-year contract. The news comes as no surprise. Remember, Anquan Boldin told CBSSports.com that it was a done deal Monday night and now it is. According to Profootballtalk.com, Smith will make $40 million over the five years with $22 million guaranteed.

But will it work for fantasy football owners?

Smith gives the 49ers a true deep threat to work opposite his former Ravens' teammate Boldin. Whether his skills are a good match for Colin Kaepernick's remains to be seen.

There’s no doubting Kaepernick has one of the league’s strongest arms. But as more than a few observers have pointed out, one of his biggest weaknesses is accuracy on the deep ball.

According to ProFootballFocus.com, Kaepernick's 33.3 percent accuracy on deep passes ranked 17th in the league.

That said, NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal contends that Kaepernick's ability to go deep has been hampered by the lack of vertical threats on the 49ers' roster over the last few years.

One thing is certain: That changes with Smith on the roster.
