Lynch Holdout Ending After Eight Days; RB Won't Get New Deal
That didn't take long. ... Marshawn Lynch's holdout has lasted eight days so far, but will come to an end soon. In fact, the man known as "Beast Mode" is expected to end his holdout and join the Seahawks at camp by Friday, according to a report by ESPN's Adam Schefter and Adam Caplan. Former teammate Michael Robinson subsequently reported on NFL Network that the star running back is en route to the team facility.

The news comes early enough in training camp that the holdout shouldn't be a factor for fantasy football owners.

Nor will it be a factor for Lynch, who will not be receiving the new deal and added money he sought. That said, Seattle is expected to add some financial concessions to his contract.

Lynch signed a four-year, $30 million deal with the Seahawks in 2012 and is scheduled to earn $5.5 million in 2014. Lynch has incurred a $30,000 fine for every day he's missed camp. The Seahawks have the option to waive those fines once Lynch shows up.

As NFL.com notes, the Seahawks likely made it clear to Lynch's camp -- as they did with the media -- they weren't going to blink on compensation. Absent any tangible leverage and fully aware of the organization's excitement for backup Christine Michael, Lynch has made the wise decision to get back to work.

Lynch, 28, has been the workhorse of the Seattle offense the past three years, rushing for 4,051 yards (along with 39 touchdowns) on 901 carries. He has averaged 300 carries and 1,350 yards over the past three seasons. And despite the positive buzz surrounding Michael, a healthy (even if not necessarily happy) Lynch will remain the team's primary rushing threat and the fantasy back of choice on Seattle's roster.
