Gonzalez Continues To Rest Toe; Johnson, Smith Held Out Thursday
Following up on an item in this week's Team Notes. ... According to ESPN.com's Vaughn McClure, tight end Tony Gonzalez was not on the practice field during the open period of Thursday's practice as the team continues to monitor his lingering toe injury.

There's still no reason to believe Gonzo won't start and play as usual in San Francisco Friday night.

Meanwhile, wide receiver Darius Johnson (high-ankle sprain) and running back/special-teamer Antone Smith (knee) were on the practice field without helmets. Neither seems likely to play at this point, but I'll have more on all involved after Friday's practice.
