Reid: Starting HB Depends On Script; All Will Play...
According to PhiladelphiaEagles.com insider Dave Spadaro, if head coach Andy Reid knows who will line up as the starting halfback against Tampa Bay Monday night -- and I suspect he does, he's not about to tell let the rest of us in on it.

The Eagles play their halfbacks in specific personnel groupings, and Reid won't pick that starting group until he scripts out the first 15 plays on Sunday night.

"All three (Correll Buckhalter, Duce Staley and Brian Westbrook) of them will play," said Reid. "We will see. It is broken down a certain way. We look at them like they all can be starters."

The team's official depth chart currently has Buckhalter listed as the starter with Westbrook and Staley -- in that order -- beneath him.

And as the Sporting News noted earlier this week, no running backs did great against the Bucs last year, but the powerful, up-the-gut runners had slightly more success.

Buckhalter fits that mold; Staley doesn't. ...

As for Westbrook, the Sports XChange reports that he still hasn't completely recovered from a bruised knee that sidelined him for the final two preseason games. But he has been practicing and will play Monday night.

One last note here. ... Rookie tight end L.J. Smith is on the injury report with a hip injury. But he has been practicing and is expected to see quite a bit of action Monday night. Reid plans to use the speedy rookie to attack the deep middle of the Bucs' 'Cover 2' zone.
